Sheltered Scheme Manager Duties
Sheltered Scheme Managers may be resident or non-resident and work either part-time or full-time.

Their specific hours of duty are displayed on their office door, scheme notice board and within the Scheme Information brochure. You should not contact the Sheltered Scheme Manager outside normal working hours. The Fold Telecare system should be used when the Sheltered Scheme Manager is off duty.

Sheltered Scheme Managers do not shop, prepare meals, collect prescriptions, dispense medication or provide personal care for any tenant. They are required to provide you with:

  1. Information on use of the door entry system, heating system, the Fold Telecare system and laundry equipment (if communal and applicable)
  2. A daily contact check, to confirm your personal safety
  3. An outline of the procedure for reporting repairs, queries and complaints
  4. General benefit, social service referral and occupational therapy referral advice
  5. A liaison facility between yourself, family, medical services, social services, and benefit agencies as and when required
  6. General tenancy advice
  7. Regular checks to ensure fire protection and Fold Telecare systems are fully operational

In addition, the Sheltered Scheme Manager must provide daily scheme security and building checks and may also organise outings, parties, lunch clubs, coffee mornings and other social events which you will receive notification of.
